- I'm not sure whether you're saying your curiosity is "peaking" or has been
- "piqued" :^)
-
- Anyway,
-
- DIP Function When OFF When ON Factory Setting
- -----------------------------------------------------------
- 1 Red Peak 0.7 V p-p 1.0 V p-p OFF
- Output Voltage
-
- 2 Green Peak 0.7 V p-p 1.0 V p-p OFF

- 3 Blue Peak 0.7 V p-p 1.0 V p-p OFF

- 4 PROM Area Alternate Factory A ON

-
- Basically, if OpalVision output is connected to video equipment, the
- equipment will expect either 0.7 V p-p or 1.0 V p-p output voltage.
-
- Generally, I think consumer equipment is more likely to want 0.7, and
- semi-pro to pro equipment 1.0 V p-p.
-
- The original OpalVision did not have these switches, and was standard with
- 1.0 V p-p output, which was fine for my requirements. Other users
- complained about the bad picture on some consumer equipment, and Opal Tech
- made a small adapter available at no charge. The next revision of the card
- came with these DIP switches for this very purpose.
